You are seen as fat and ugly. The fashion industry says so!

For those people who think that they are imperfect for this world, or to those who think they are in full knowledge and awareness with what happens in the fashion industry, think again. Everybody knows how some girls like to think they can squeeze into those negative size dresses and make themselves be unhealthy and 'stick thin'.

Let's explore the world of 'Fashion and Beauty' shall we?

Britain's Next Top Model TV show is a prime example of these stereotype models who think they have to look and be a certain way to be accepted, the ones who think having a stick of celery for dinner is a sensible meal. You can see the different types of girls who go on these shows and see how self centered they can really be. Why be like that?

Young girls and sometimes boys and older women look up to these stereotypes and think they look perfect and think that's how you should look. But it's not. Everybody needs to stop paying attention to these young stars, who don't have spots, and have these clothes that fit them perfectly. Images you see in magazines and on posters etc are all 'fake', they are just photoshopped to the max to make them look 'perfect'. They have lighting and photoshop crew on hand 24 hours a day and they are to blame too, as we are just looking at what they see as an 'attractive person' and not 'real'.

On the runway, it's a completely different way of life, as to how we see it. The supermodels we see on the television and in magazines are roughly between 5ft 11" and 6ft 1" and they probably weigh around 10 stone, however the height and weight of a 'normal' person is around 5ft 4" and weighs around about 9 stone.

Parents can be to blame too, when they are pressuring their daughters/sons into modeling, thinking that they can the next supermodel to walk on the runway. They start to feel bad about themselves because they don't look like what we see in magazines etc. They need to realize they aren't 'photoshop fabulous' from birth and they never have been, it's all about what is seen as perfect.

The point is, you don't want your children growing up to be like these sometimes irresponsible celebrities, and exposing themselves to be classed as a 'fake', all because of them matching themselves to people in magazines. It isn't everyone in the world who sees this as OK. This is where eating disorders etc come into mind. You wouldn't want your daughter to suffer Anorexia, just like you wouldn't anyone else. So prevent it from happening and show your children and other people it isn't real, and you can be beautiful just the way you are.You wouldn't want to be in the situation just because the Fashion Industry tells you it's the right way to be.

What is Fashion?

Some people like to think they don’t follow fashion, or like fashionable clothes. They do! Fashion is apart of everybody's lifestyle, whether they like it or not.

People don’t like to be classed as ‘followers’, but without knowing it, they all secretly have something that they have seen and loved. So they go out, and they buy it.

It’s all about glamour, beauty and style. Having your own unique style is fabulous, but nowadays can people really have that? What do you wear each day? Do any of us really plan on what we are going to wear each day? Or is it the case of how we feel each morning, whether we feel fat in the dress that once made us look skinny? Or the jeans that now make your legs look too short? Fashion is all about how you feel, what you look like and what makes you stand out from everybody else.

Keeping up to date with the fashion trends doesn’t always mean you have to go out and spend a fortune. It gives you variety in what you want to wear and what you can afford to wear. There are no rules for what you should and should not wear. Fashion is so diverse; you can just be yourself and feel comfortable with yourself without people judging you. It’s all about making that one statement. “This is me, get over it”.

Fashion is a lifestyle, everybody has a lifestyle, and with this lifestyle we try and ‘cheat’ our way into making other people think we can be better looking than we really are, or ‘cooler’ than we are, so in a way we are projecting this false image of ourselves. Fashion can turn into an obsession if we don’t ‘play’ it right.

Celebrities, peers, music, work and even sports can influence how we dress. It seems as though every aspect of life in itself can influence fashion. Young girls in particular are influenced by models and celebrities. Wanting to look like them in lots of different ways, whether it's having the same hair styles, dress sense and even the same dress sizes. Girls and even boys feel they have to look a certain way to be accepted. Having this problem around the world, this can lead people into eating disorders and not being happy in your own body.

How many times have you picked up your favorite fashion magazine and have read an article about how women should have this amazing image of themselves and how they can now be happy with their curves? Not very often. The media is a huge industry and they give out this type of 'normative influence' to teens around the world. The industry can move on from encouraging people to be a shape which nature never intended them to be, therefore the media will just continue to form a view of what young people should look for in the world of 'fashion and beauty'. The world is seen to be only populated by 'thin girls' and not 'real girls'.

The industry is endless nowadays, you have; fashion models, fashion designers, celebrities who have found their fame through fashion, and even now, you can do a degree in fashion at university. Fashion is seen as the backbone to what is now one of the most lucrative industries in the world.

Ugg Boots

Ugg Boots are clearly one of the world's favorite 'fluffy boot'. They come in different styles, textures, colours. The first time I put on my pair of Ugg's, I don't think I took them off...even now! They are a must have.
Legging, Jeans, Shorts...they go with anything....well, to a certain extent they do anyway!
Don't wear them with this years Floral season. Elegant pumps or pretty sandals for that please! Don't copy all the celebs, they aren't all designers.

What else is new? or old and coming back?

Lace, is such a beautiful material and when you see a top, dress or even a head scarf made of lace, it makes you feel feminine straight away. It can make an outfit look pretty and classy.
Lace can be seen as flirty, because people can represent lace as 'sexy'.
Lace is another hot fashion trend for 2011. Lace can make you feel so attractive and girly. Every girl needs a bit of lace in her life.
Sometimes too much lace can make you look or feel like your great great grandmother, but don't over do it. Add together a lace dress and denim jacket, with a pair of gorgeous heels. It'll make you stand out for this years summer trends.

What are the new trends for Spring/Summer 2011

Recently researched into what this years fashion trends might bring...When I see the new fashion trends, I can't sit back and say I don't follow them, because let's face it...everybody does.
I think you should always try out the new trends, even if you don't want to be seen as a 'follower' to fashion. Everybody needs to find their own personal style, and see it as an important thing.
So this years Spring/Summer trends are to be Floral prints, which comes and goes, but any gorgeous feminine style can't go without florals somewhere along the lines.
